Sometimes referred to as the Inside-Out Building, the Lloyd’s building is a well-known example of Richard Rogers’ modern Bowellism style, which tried to maximize interior space by placing services (such as ducts and elevators) on the exterior.  Built between 1961 and 1986, the building has three main and three service towers around a rectangular central space. The ground floor contains the Underwriting Room (also known as “the Room”), overlooked by galleries creating a 60m (197 ft) atrium  with a huge barrel-vaulted glass ceiling providing natural light. It’s fourteen floors rise to 88m (289 ft).

The Lloyd’s building has been used as a location in numerous films, including the recent Guardians of the Galaxy and the infamous 1995 movie Hackers.
