Artist’s Description:
Napoleon I, gaining victory in the French Revolution, entrusted Chalgrin to design the arch as a commemoration. Its splendid appearance brings a crown of coronation at Notre Dame to mind. It is situated in the Place de l’Etoile (Place Charles-de-Gaulle) where 12 avenues, such as Avenue de Champs-Elyses were brought together by a city remodeling project. I like Paris best of all.
Commercially-produced die-cut origamic architecture pop-up card and envelope.
Cards measure 16cm by 11cm (about 6 1/4 inches by 4 5/16 inches) when closed.
Design by Masahiro Chatani.
